A 12-year-old Sophia resident was ordered held in custody after he made his first court appearance before Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court charged for snatching a hefty sum of cash from a Chinese national.The lad was accused of stealing a total of $1,cheap authentic jerseys,235,000 in cash and property from Lee Sang Tack on Main Street, Georgetown on January 5. However, the court heard that some of his friends relieved him of some of the loot.Investigations were then launched and the victim identified the youngster to some police ranks on duty and he was arrested. It is also reported that whilst under caution and in the presence of his grandmother, the 12-year-old orally admitted to committing the crime.At the hearing yesterday, the Magistrate ordered him held. He is expected to make his next court appearance on January 13 for Report.
